Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan participated in the regular session of the heads of government of the CIS countries via video conference. The Deputy Prime Minister delivered a speech, welcomed the participants to the session, and thanked the Belarusian side for organizing it.
In his speech, the RA Deputy Prime Minister noted that in the first half of this year, the trade turnover between Armenia and the CIS countries amounted to approximately $ 4 billion, indicating that the indicators have decreased slightly compared to the same period last year. In this context, he emphasized the need and importance of adopting an action plan promptly, aimed at strengthening cooperation, modernizing economies, and introducing innovations.
In his speech, the Deputy Prime Minister also noted that sustainable and comprehensive economic development is impossible without the creation of modern infrastructure and the establishment of effective transport and communication logistics.
“In this regard, I would like to note that the Republic of Armenia is committed to the regional connectivity agenda,” the Deputy Prime Minister noted. In response to the speech of Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov, he stated that it is necessary to refrain from using the term “Zangezur Corridor,” adding that in accordance with the high-level documents signed between the countries, the definition of “Trump’s Path for International Peace and Prosperity” should be used in the context of de-blockade.
At the end of his speech, Mher Grigoryan expressed the readiness of the Armenian side to continue further strengthening constructive partnership within the CIS for the purpose of implementing promising and mutually beneficial projects.
