“All the reforms that have been started will continue,” Deputy Defense Minister Arman Sargsyan said at a briefing in the National Assembly, referring to the budget cuts.
“Prime Minister Pashinyan presented them in detail from the NA podium in response to a question. And most importantly, no reform that has been started will be stopped and will be brought to its logical conclusion.”
Let us recall that the defense budget is expected to be reduced by $264 million in 2026. The Prime Minister stated in the National Assembly that the increase in the defense budget for 2025 was disproportionately large, and part of the amount was allocated to the early repayment of defense spending debts. According to him, if it were not for the disproportionately sharp increase, the amount to be allocated next year would have been a natural and normal increase.
