The President of the Spanish Congress of Deputies appreciated the signed documents
On September 24, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, met with the President of the Congress of Deputies of the Kingdom of Spain, Francina Armengol Socias, in Madrid.
The focus of the discussions between the interlocutors was the development of Armenia-Spain relations, with particular emphasis on the activation of inter-parliamentary ties, as well as cooperation in the economic, educational, and high-tech sectors. Reference was also made to the RA-EU relations, issues related to the visa liberalization process, and the ongoing democratic reforms in Armenia.
The issue of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which was addressed in Washington, was given special importance. In this context, the President of the Congress of Deputies of Spain appreciated the signed documents, noting that Spain is a supporter of peace in the region.
Alen Simonyan also drew his counterpart's attention to the issue of prisoners of war and illegally held persons in Azerbaijan, highlighting the problem of those considered missing.
