Upon reaching that point, regardless of whether we have been accepted or not, we have resolved our issue. “They say that EU membership is realistic, but the government and the political majority say that our task is to achieve EU standards in all areas,” said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, referring to the prospect of EU membership. He also emphasized that we may not become an EU member. “We understand that even after achieving all the standards, we may not become an EU member.”

Nikol Pashinyan noted that Armenia’s main task is to comply with EU standards. “When we reach that point, whether we are accepted or not, we have solved our problem. Many people view everything through a geopolitical lens and other perspectives. Still, they do not record what decision this political majority is making,” he said, adding that this is the next step in unwavering commitment to the agenda of democratic reforms.

“Otherwise, adopting such a law would not make sense,” the Prime Minister noted.
