Congratulatory message of the Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Armenia:
Dear compatriots,
Today is the Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia, the most important holiday for every Armenian and citizen of the Republic of Armenia.
On September 21, 1991, the Armenian people not only declared their free will to have an independent state, but also began a new era, where we ourselves control our destiny. Indeed, the path to independence has not been so easy. We have gone through difficult and trying years. Still, it is these challenges that have taught us to form fundamental ideas and free ourselves from the ideological false shackles imposed on us, which have hindered the development of the Republic of Armenia for years. Today, we are genuinely independent, recognizing that independence and sovereignty can be strengthened only through peace. Peace is the key that opens the real prospects for the development of our country, creates a democratic, robust, and stable state, and ensures the dignified and safe life of our citizens. And so, the peace established on August 8, 2025, has brought us closer and closer to our dream of having an independent and sovereign Republic of Armenia.
Dear compatriots, I congratulate all of us on the Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia. May our independence and peace endure, our statehood remain unshakable, and the future be bright and full of hope.
Glory to all the martyrs and long live our independent and sovereign Republic of Armenia.
