RA President Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia, Mehdi Sobhani, who is completing his diplomatic mission. The President welcomed the Ambassador and thanked him for the consistent efforts shown during his tenure, which contributed to raising the level of relations between Armenia and Iran.
"During your tenure, you have achieved significant successes," the President said, and expressed hope for the further strengthening of cooperation between the two countries.
Expressing gratitude for the reception, the Ambassador thanked the President of the Republic and the leadership of Armenia for the support and practical work they provided during his diplomatic mission.
During the meeting, agenda issues of multi-sectoral cooperation between the two countries were discussed. The parties positively noted the practical cooperation between Armenia and Iran in the development of transport and energy infrastructure, which is a solid basis for expanding cooperation.
During the conversation, thoughts were exchanged on regional realities, in the context of which the Ambassador emphasized that Iran supports Armenia's efforts to establish peace within the framework of the fundamental principles of territorial integrity and sovereignty. The President of the Republic expressed gratitude for the precise and consistent positions repeatedly voiced by the Iranian side.
The meeting also touched upon the continuous development of economic cooperation, commodity circulation, and tourism flows, emphasizing the great potential in these directions.
