"They say your peace has been established, but we see many problems; therefore, your peace is not good.
We are still at the beginning of the road. Peace is a long process. After all, let's not deny that there is a history of blood between the two peoples," Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated in the National Assembly. According to him, peace is never established between friendly countries, but between countries that have previously had a conflict.
According to the minister, if a peace treaty is signed in the near future, "we still cannot say that everything is over." "To put it very simply, we mean that for now the parties are not shooting at each other, the risk of escalation is minimal."
He also touched upon the issue of Armenian prisoners of war held in Baku, noting: "There are still problems, you mentioned one: the issue of prisoners of war. "Unfortunately, we do not have a complete, final solution to the issue, although we already have the well-publicized commitment of the Azerbaijani side to release everyone. If two countries say they want to establish peace, perhaps it is worth resolving humanitarian issues first."
