During his working visit to Beijing, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan met with President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Qin Lijun.
Prime Minister Pashinyan noted that Armenia’s membership in the organization opens up new opportunities for implementing investment programs.
The parties emphasized that cooperation will contribute to the implementation of projects in the field of infrastructure development.
During the meeting, possible areas of joint work were discussed, including projects for the development of transport, energy, and communication infrastructure.
Prime Minister Pashinyan touched upon the Academic City project, highlighting the potential involvement of the AIIB as an investor.
In turn, AIIB President Qin Lijun emphasized that the bank is ready to support Armenia’s economic, scientific, and educational sectors by investing in programs that will contribute to the country’s long-term growth and deepen regional ties.
The parties agreed to continue work aimed at developing and implementing specific investment projects.
