President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan met with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian, who is in Armenia on an official visit, at the presidential residence.
President Khachaturyan welcomed his counterpart, emphasizing the importance of bilateral friendly ties and expressing confidence that the Iranian President's visit will contribute to the further deepening of relations between Armenia and Iran and the strengthening of peace and stability in the region.
President Pezeshkian, in turn, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and partnership.
During the meeting, the parties discussed possible ways to realize the potential for cooperation in political, economic, cultural, and many other areas. The bilateral agreements reached during the official visit and the signed documents were positively assessed, emphasizing that they will be fully implemented thanks to joint efforts.
Khachaturyan also noted that one of the best examples of a close Armenian-Iranian partnership is the impressive work of Iranian road construction companies in the Syunik section of the North-South Road Corridor, which vividly expresses the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation and the high level of trust.
The general regional and geopolitical situation was also discussed during the conversation. In this context, the interlocutors discussed Armenia's “Crossroads of Peace” program.
The parties emphasized that establishing stable and lasting peace and creating trade routes based on the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and state independence will benefit the entire region.
