We must ensure that this route is truly a path of peace and development. Pezeshkyan

The Iranian side has published a statement of the telephone conversation between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

According to the statement, Pezeshkian stressed the need to ensure that the Caucasus Corridor truly becomes a path to peace and development, and not a tool for achieving the hegemonic goals of foreign powers.

The Iranian president stressed the need for vigilance and special caution regarding possible actions by the United States, which may pursue hegemonic goals in the Caucasus “under the guise” of economic investments and claims to ensure peace.

He also noted that Iran-Armenia relations are strategic, and the interaction between the two countries is constructive, based on good neighborliness and mutual respect for territorial integrity.

“Adoption of principled and logical approaches has always been a solid foundation of the friendly ties between Tehran and Yerevan, and any attempt to undermine these historical and deep relations will be categorically rejected and considered unacceptable,” he emphasized.

According to the Iranian President, Iran, as a bastion of peace, stability, and security in the region, welcomes any agreement that leads to the strengthening of peace, especially between the countries of the area.

He also emphasized the value of good-neighborly relations, in particular between Iran, Azerbaijan, and Armenia, noting that the continuation and strengthening of these relations depend on vigilance, coordination, compassion, and avoiding any external interference.

According to the Iranian side’s statement, Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized that relations and cooperation with Tehran occupy a special place for Yerevan.

“Armenia considers its relations with Iran to be strategic, and all important decisions and actions will be made through mutual consultations and coordination. We have established transparency and honesty as fundamental principles in these relations, and this approach will always remain unshakable,” the Armenian Prime Minister said.
