“They fought for 35 years, and now they will be friends for a long time. It is a great honor to welcome everyone to the White House. I want to welcome two wonderful leaders to Washington to sign this historic declaration,” US President Donald Trump said today during a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Ilham Aliyev.
Azerbaijani President Aliyev also announced that this is a truly historic day.
“Today, we are establishing peace in the Caucasus. President Trump is bringing peace to the Caucasus. If it were not for President Trump, Armenia and Azerbaijan would continue to be in constant negotiations.”
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also said that he congratulates everyone.
“To the countries of our region, I congratulate the world. As a result of this, the world will become a better place. This success would not have been possible without President Trump’s personal involvement and decisive commitment to establishing peace in our region,” he said.
Armenia, the United States, and Azerbaijan signed a joint declaration after the trilateral meeting.
