US President Donald Trump will host the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Nikol Pashinyan and Ilham Aliyev, at the White House on Friday as he seeks to broker a peace deal between the two nations embroiled in decades of conflict, The Washington Post reported.
The meeting was first confirmed to The Washington Post by two senior White House officials. They said it was an example of President Trump’s efforts to end international conflicts and to win praise for it.
The newspaper notes that Trump boasts of his skills in brokering peace agreements around the world, and several world leaders have nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize.
