I went to Turkey not with the agenda of Armenian-Turkish relations, but with the agenda of RA-Turkey ties, said Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, noting that this is an important nuance.
“There are many complications and complexities both there and with us. But I do not doubt that we will reach that point where, in the end, diplomatic relations will be established and the border will be opened.
In the context of Armenia’s state survival, independence, and sovereignty strategy, maintaining normal relations with Turkey is crucial. That is obvious.
We must face the fact that a significant portion of the psychological and practical limitations to our sovereignty and independence are related to our perception and understanding of the threat posed by Turkey. In other words, establishing normal relations with Turkey means overcoming both the perception of the threat and managing or reducing these threats, as a result of which we will have a larger territory, becoming independent,” said Nikol Pashinyan.
He emphasized that there is a constant dialogue with Turkey.
