There are known cases of outsourcing in Armenia: Prime Minister (VIDEO)

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the talks about outsourcing the management of the road passing through Syunik:

"Right now, there are known cases of outsourcing in the Republic of Armenia, some of which we are satisfied with and some of which we are dissatisfied with. For example, the management of the "Zvartnots" airport has been outsourced, and I do not believe that the sovereignty, jurisdiction, and territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia have been compromised in any way. The management of the water system has been outsourced.

We have had the experience of outsourcing "Haypost" in the past, and so on," the Prime Minister said.

Pashinyan noted, nevertheless, that the Armenian Railways, the "Zvartnots" airport, and the water system continue to remain the property of the country.

"We may be talking about the creation of a company that will attract investments; you can imagine what a huge investment potential the 'Crossroads of Peace' has, and also what investment interest there is. We are talking about pipelines - there will be an oil pipeline, a gas pipeline, a power line, a telecommunications cable, and so on. This is an economy that must be created and managed. According to our logic, this should and can be the property of the Republic of Armenia. Here we are talking about managing that economy and implementing certain functions within it," the Prime Minister said.

Pashinyan noted that he could not specify these conversations, as the ideas are still in the discussion stage. "Why can't I be particular, because all sorts of ideas are being discussed and have been discussed. If an agreement were reached and signed, I could discuss it. What I said now is that I presented the range of discussions because we constantly talk about the logic of transportation channels operating under the jurisdiction, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia. Still, in the "Crossroads of Peace" project, we said that we are ready for simplifications."
