The Honorary Consulate of France has been opened in Goris.
Olivier Decotigny, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to the Republic of Armenia welcomed the audience in Armenian. He noted that Goris is a unique city for France: “For the French, Goris is the crossroads of Syunik.”
He also discussed the opening of the consulate, noting that it is more than just a consulate: “There are not enough French people living here to open a consular office.” According to him, Goris has always been a crossroads and a beating heart.
