"If we don't produce weapons, someone else will, and we will be forced to buy them." Fico

“Armenia and Slovakia have the same nuclear power reactors. We can cooperate greatly,” the Slovak Prime Minister said during a press conference with the Prime Ministers of Armenia and Slovakia.

“We were talking about spent nuclear fuel. We have specialized nuclear companies, and you have them too. Let’s cooperate through joint efforts. We agreed and would like to include specialists,” noted Robert Fico.

Another area of cooperation, he said, is the defense industry.

“If we don’t produce weapons, someone else will, and we will have to buy. If we have to spend a lot of money on our defense, we should do what we can as small countries: find products that meet our needs. At the same time, this cooperation will not force us to buy from other large partners,” noted Fico, emphasizing that the army needs infrastructure, not just weapons.
