President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan visited the Embassy of Georgia in Armenia on Independence Day, the country's national holiday.
The President warmly congratulated Giorgi Sharvashidze, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Armenia, conveying his best wishes to the friendly people of Georgia. The President of the Republic wished Georgia success and prosperity, emphasizing the importance of the traditional Armenian-Georgian friendship and partnership.
President Khachaturyan particularly valued the centuries-old friendship between the Armenian and Georgian peoples, considering it a reliable basis for the development of cooperation based on mutual respect and trust. According to him, the political dialogue, economic cooperation, and cultural ties established between Armenia and Georgia should continue to develop for the benefit of both peoples.
"I congratulate you from the bottom of my heart. As independent states, we are obliged to pass on to our heirs and future generations the heritage we have, preserving our territorial integrity, identity, and sovereignty," President Khachaturyan noted in his speech.
Georgian Ambassador Giorgi Sharvashidze, in turn, thanked the President for his visit and congratulated him. "It is a great honor for us to host you here. You rightly noted that we must pass on what we achieved in 1918 to our descendants. I would also like to emphasize that the doors of our embassy are always open to young people," the ambassador noted.
During the meeting, the parties also emphasized the need for peace, stability, and deepening cooperation in the region as an important component of the two neighboring peoples' common vision.
