On May 14, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, also paid a working visit to Brussels. Minister Mirzoyan met with the Vice-President of the European Commission, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaia Kallas.
The interlocutors discussed the vision and prospects for deepening the Armenia-EU partnership and joint work aimed at expanding cooperation in specific areas.
Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that the fundamental principles of democracy and peace are at the heart of the Armenia-EU partnership. As a result of joint efforts, tangible results have been achieved. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy touched upon the upcoming high-level contacts and their agenda items.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Kaia Kallas exchanged views on international and regional developments and emphasized the importance of developing strong and like-minded partnerships in the current period of uncertainty. In the context of efforts to establish peace in the South Caucasus, the key importance of signing an agreement on establishing peace and interstate relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan was emphasized.
