The draft agreement "On International Road Transportation of Passengers and Cargo between Armenia and China" has passed the stage of internal coordination and has been sent to the Chinese side for mutual agreement. The RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure reported in response to Radar Armenia's request.
"The agreement will allow regulating the implementation of regular passenger and cargo transportation by road between the two countries, will contribute to the promotion of mutually beneficial economic and business ties between the countries, the development of the interstate transportation sector by road, and the expansion of cooperation within the framework of international transport corridors," the response states.
The ministry reports that work is underway to finalize the draft agreement, after which the signing process will begin.
"The agreement will allow Armenian transport companies to carry out transportation between the two countries, simplifying the transportation process within the framework of the mutual permit system, reducing the cost, and eliminating obstacles. In general, it will diversify the cargo and passenger transportation sector of Armenia, create new trade opportunities, and strengthen Armenia's role as a regional transit link," the response states explicitly.
