"We will not miss this opportunity for the sake of our martyrs and our generations." Prime Minister

Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan has sent a message on the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

“Dear people, dear citizens of the Republic of Armenia,

Today, we commemorate the memory of the innocent victims of the Great Genocide, the Armenian Genocide, who fell victim to the massacres and mass deportations that have been raging since 1915.

These events that took place during the last period of the Ottoman Empire’s existence have left a deep mark on the soul and consciousness of every Armenian; for many citizens of Armenia, the Genocide is not only a national but also a family and personal tragedy.

Surviving this tragedy has been one of the key issues on our national agenda for more than a century, regardless of how it has been formulated as such.

The reflections and thoughts of the Government and myself on this agenda boil down to the following: A developed, sovereign, secure, that is, with demarcated and demarcated borders, the Republic of Armenia is the means to survive the tragedy of the Great Genocide, the guarantor of our loyalty to all the sacrifices and victims of our people.

State and state interests, the Republic of Armenia with an internationally recognized territory, with regulated relations with neighbors, with open borders, peace, work, prosperity, a free and protected citizen: this is what, who, and how should keep the memory of the victims of the Great Genocide alive, this is how we should survive the tragedy of the Great Genocide.

Dear people, dear citizens of the Republic of Armenia,

We are going this way because this is how we decipher the message that history sends us. This is how we decipher the heartbeat of each of you, each citizen of the Republic of Armenia, which is not broadcast on any television or expressed on any social network but is audible to the ruling majority formed in the Republic of Armenia by your vote. It is audible to me personally.

Going this way is not a matter of optimism or pessimism but of a mission: to ensure the longevity of the Republic of Armenia, our homeland-state. Having gone through severe trials and tragedies, we have earned this opportunity, and it must not be missed. I am sure that we, the people and the governing team elected by them, will not miss this opportunity for the sake of our martyrs and for the sake of our generations.

Glory to the martyrs and long live the Republic of Armenia,” his message reads.
