Prime Minister and PACE President discuss regional issues

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received a delegation led by the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Theodoros Rousopoulos. The Prime Minister welcomed the PACE President's visit and highlighted the Assembly's active activities and ongoing discussions.

Theodoros Roussopoulos assessed the cooperation with the Armenian parliamentarians as highly effective and expressed hope that it would continue successfully. During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the ongoing democratic reforms in Armenia and the Government's steps to improve human rights protection mechanisms.

The Head of the PACE Delegation highly appreciated the steps taken to ensure the irreversibility of democratic processes in Armenia, reaffirming PACE's readiness to continue cooperation and support.

The interlocutors discussed issues related to regional developments. Prime Minister Pashinyan touched upon the peace agreement with Azerbaijan and emphasized that Armenia is committed to the peace agenda and ready to sign it.

At the end of the meeting, the importance of deepening dialogue and multilateral cooperation for regional stability and peace was emphasized.
