On April 15, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, met with Tanja Fajon, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia. Emphasizing the role of parliamentary diplomacy in the dynamic development of the high-level political dialogue between Armenia and Slovenia, the interlocutors attached importance to its further deepening to give a new pace to bilateral relations.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the draft of the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan and other issues of mutual interest.
The interlocutors’ discussions also focused on issues related to the Armenia-EU agenda and the ongoing democratic reforms in Armenia. Alen Simonyan drew Tanja Fajon’s attention to the problem of Armenians held in Azerbaijan.
