On April 3, RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Magdalena Grono, the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia.
The interlocutors discussed regional issues. They touched upon efforts to establish lasting peace in the South Caucasus.
Referring to normalizing relations with Azerbaijan, Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the importance of signing the Treaty on Peace and Establishing Interstate Relations, which was agreed upon after lengthy negotiations. Reference was also made to the settlement component, the unblocking of regional communications. Minister Mirzoyan referred to the specific proposals of the Republic of Armenia, built on the fundamental principles of international law.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Magdalena Grono also discussed humanitarian issues, including addressing the fate of missing persons and the return of Armenian prisoners of war and detained civilians.
The interlocutors also discussed the steps to deepen the partnership between Armenia and the EU, including through the most effective use of the existing tools.
