The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the dialogue with the EU towards visa liberalization

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Mrs. Anna Hakobyan hosted German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Mrs. Elke Budenbender, who are officially visiting Armenia, at the Government.

The Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of Germany met in expanded formats, and Anna Hakobyan and Elke Budenbender also had a private meeting.

Nikol Pashinyan welcomed Mr. Steinmeier's visit to the Republic of Armenia and noted that it is historic, as it is the first visit of the German President to our country. The Prime Minister emphasized that Armenia and Germany have active and deepening cooperation. In this regard, the Head of State emphasized Germany's support for the democratic reform agenda of the Government of the Republic of Armenia and expressed gratitude for Frank-Walter Steinmeier's efforts in this direction.

The German President expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality and noted that his country attaches importance to deepening multi-sectoral cooperation with Armenia. Frank-Walter Steinmeier considered cooperation in the fields of economy, investments, infrastructure development, energy, tourism, education, and culture to be promising. The German President expressed his country's support for developing Armenia-EU cooperation and effectively implementing the RA government's reform agenda.

The interlocutors emphasized the need to realize the great potential for consistent development and deepening of bilateral relations, which can facilitate the activation of human contacts. In this context, Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the importance of the dialogue with the EU on visa liberalization.

Reference was made to the coordination of the draft agreement "On the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan." The RA Prime Minister and the German President attached importance to the signing of the agreement to ensure peace and stability in the South Caucasus. Frank-Walter Steinmeier emphasized Germany's support for the RA Government's peace on the agenda.

Thoughts were also exchanged on the RA Government's "Crossroads of Peace" project and other issues of mutual interest.
