Thoughts were exchanged on issues of cooperation with the EU

On March 31, Ararat Mirzoyan met with Filip Ivanovic, Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro for Foreign and European Affairs, at the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The interlocutors noted with satisfaction the active dynamics of the political dialogue between Armenia and Montenegro in recent years and the joint efforts invested in expanding cooperation in certain areas. In particular, the legal and contractual framework expansion, a significant increase in tourism volumes, and joint work carried out in information technologies and innovative education were highlighted.

Ararat Mirzoyan and Filip Ivanovic discussed specific opportunities for developing cooperation in the economic and trade sectors, emphasizing the outline of a unique “road map” for companies operating in the two countries as a primary practical measure.

Podgorica was symbolic as the first city with which Yerevan signed a cooperation agreement, so the ministers emphasized the importance of effectively continuing cooperation in this format.

The foreign ministers of Armenia and Montenegro also exchanged views on cooperation issues with the EU. The RA foreign minister presented the progress in RA-EU relations in recent years and emphasized the exchange of best practices in implementing reforms to deepen cooperation with the EU.

The meeting exchanged views on regional developments. Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the clear position expressed by the Republic of Armenia on the issue of signing a peace treaty with Azerbaijan, which, if reciprocated, will make it possible to reach an important milestone.
