Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said in Astana that the peace agreement between Yerevan and Baku will be a turning point.
“After long negotiations, the time has come to sign the agreement and move forward towards establishing peace and opening up economic opportunities in the South Caucasus,” he stressed.
Important regional issues were discussed during the meeting with the Kazakh Foreign Minister. Mirzoyan presented Murat Nurtulyev with the latest developments in normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“Armenia’s position is clear: recognition of the territorial integrity of both states and the conduct of the demarcation process based on the provisions of the Alma-Ata Declaration. It is obvious that the resolution of humanitarian issues is also important, including the clarification of the fate of the missing and the release of prisoners of war and detainees,” Mirzoyan noted.
“We appreciate the statement of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry regarding the conclusion of negotiations on a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” Mirzoyan added.
