Alen Simonyan drew his colleague's attention to the issue of Armenians held in Azerbaijan
During his working visit to Strasbourg, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Alain Simonyan, met with the Speaker of the National Assembly of France, Yael Braun-Pivet, within the framework of the European Conference of Speakers of the Parliaments of the Council of Europe.
In a conversation with his colleague, Alain Simonyan expressed gratitude for France's continuous support of Armenia, noting that Armenia also highly appreciates France's efforts to establish peace in our region.
Yael Braun-Pivet, in turn, reaffirmed France's unconditional support for Armenia's peace aspirations and steps towards democratic reforms.
The parties also touched upon issues related to Armenian-French relations, inter-parliamentary cooperation, and regional developments. The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia reaffirmed the resolute position of the Armenian side on signing the recently agreed peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan and drew the attention of the French colleague to the issue of Armenians held in Azerbaijan.
