"It was unexpected for Azerbaijan to quickly agree to the peace treaty." Torosyan

“This is not the first time we have recorded such a destructive style of work,” said Arsen Torosyan, a deputy of the NA KP faction, speaking about Baku’s accusations about the shootings on the border.

According to him, these are information provocations. “Their first goal is to undermine stability within our country; we have had such cases before,” he said, recalling that the rumors about the shootings were denied not only by the RA Ministry of Defense but also by EU civilian observers. According to Torosyan, Azerbaijan is not presenting facts because they do not exist.

“Secondly, I think the quick agreement on the peace treaty was somewhat unexpected for Azerbaijan, and they have a problem overcoming this. In addition, they may be trying to increase their political value in the eyes of various actors by showing that Armenia is the destructive one, and they are in the role of the victim,” he noted. Torosyan added that despite this behavior of Azerbaijan, Armenia should not change its work style and give in to provocations.
