Deputy Foreign Ministers of Armenia and China held political consultations

On March 4, political consultations were held in Beijing between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the People's Republic of China, headed by Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Mnatsakan Safaryan and Deputy Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China Liu Bin.

During the consultations, the parties emphasized the high level of bilateral political dialogue and discussed steps to further deepen it.

China reaffirmed its support for Armenia's political independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. Armenia reiterated its support for the "One China" principle.

A wide range of issues on the agenda of bilateral relations were discussed, including in the political, trade and economic, agricultural, transport interconnection, cultural, and humanitarian spheres. The positive dynamics of relations between Armenia and China were satisfactory.

The parties valued the "Crossroads of Peace" and "One Belt, One Road" projects. They also paid special attention to implementing infrastructure projects.

Views were exchanged on cooperation between Armenia and China within the framework of international organizations. The Chinese side presented the priorities of its upcoming chairmanship in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). The parties discussed the prospects for further cooperation between Armenia and China within the SCO.
