Nikol Pashinyan addressed the issue of prisoners held in Baku (VIDEO)

Independent MP Gegham Nazaryan raised the issue of the sham trial of Armenian prisoners of war in Baku during a question-and-answer session with the government, noting that the former leaders of Nagorno-Karabakh fought for the internationally recognized right to self-determination.

In response, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted: “In the context of the trials taking place in Baku, I said that we have information, and it is obvious that prohibited means and torture are being used, and the RA Government, represented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has made a clear assessment. We will continue our efforts to address the issue.”

He stressed that the principle of not harm guides diplomacy in this matter. “Our assessment is clear: prohibited means, including physical and psychological pressure tools, and according to some information we have, other prohibited means are being used to carry out prohibited influence, which is, of course, unacceptable for us.”
