The RA representative for international legal issues, Yeghishe Kirakosyan, addressed the issue of Armenian prisoners held in Baku in the National Assembly, noting that the photos that appeared in the press were submitted to the European Court, demanding that the ECHR oblige them to provide additional information about them.
"At one time, we filed an interstate complaint, including photos of the prisoners. But we also have a second separate complaint, the written stage of which was completed at the end of last year, in December. We have applied interim measures against Azerbaijan, within which we regularly receive information about the detainees' health condition and the conditions of their detention," he said, adding that the latest data was received in early February.
According to Kirakosyan, the photos and videos related to the prisoners are being studied. "They are being brought to the attention of the European Court, demanding that the European Court oblige them to provide additional information not only regarding Ruben Vardanyan, the former leader of Nagorno-Karabakh but also regarding all the detainees.
"We also have certain concerns regarding the rights of the people held there. We are trying to do quite detailed work in that direction. We will continue the work," he said.
