"We have brought back more than 150 prisoners in four years." Alen Simonyan

NA Speaker Alen Simonyan announced that 152 confirmed captives were returned through negotiations and the intervention of various mediators.

"Over the past four years, we have brought back more than 150 captives; now there are 23 confirmed ones left, 11-12 of whom are former leaders of Karabakh," he said.

According to the NA Speaker, Armenia prioritizes the return of the remaining captives and is discussing this issue on all possible platforms. "They are our compatriots, and all steps related to their return have been taken and will be taken." He noted that considering the long-term goals of conducting these trials, "It will be tough at this stage, but that does not mean that attempts and work in that direction will not continue."

Simonyan also noted that Baku has used and will continue to use the "lever" of captives "to make political bargains, as it did during COP-29. "You can constantly state manifestos, toasts, and utter absolute truths in front of cameras to seem good, but they have no practical value," he emphasized.
