The NA “Armenia” faction will not participate in the vote on the draft law “On the launch of the process of Armenia’s accession to the EU,” the faction leader Seyran Ohanyan announced.
According to him, Armenia’s membership in the EU is unrealistic. “If the Armenian government had applied to the EU for membership, negotiations would have started, and as a result, an international agreement on membership would have been signed; only after that, as envisaged by the constitution, the issue should be put to a referendum,” he said. Ohanyan also noted that the EU membership agenda does not comply with the procedures established by the EU.
