Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced at a meeting with the Armenian community in the United States that ideological changes are taking place in Armenia.
He detailed that all this was due to the defeat in the 44-day war. "Now, assessing the situation today, I can say the following: today, having gone through that defeat, we have gained the opportunity to have an independent sovereign state," he said, adding that he would not want people to conclude as a result of these analyses that the sacrifices of the fallen martyrs were for nothing.
"I disagree with that position and have been thinking about this topic for a long time. I have also formed a conviction that those sacrifices were for the independence and sovereignty of Armenia. And now, we need to focus on using the opportunity of that sacrifice. Moreover, it will not be easy," he said.
He also noted that much negativity toward Armenia has formed in the region. "And it is essential that we can manage that negativity." The Prime Minister also said we should consider ourselves the first factor in solving our problems rather than resorting to extra-regional factors.
The Prime Minister also noted that he came to such a conclusion by solving practical problems in his official capacity: "I wish I were smart enough to have drawn this conclusion from various books and textbooks, from what I have read and learned. Unfortunately, I am not smart enough to grasp this information. I have grasped this information during my time as Prime Minister from solving various practical problems and situations and conversations, sentences that express ways of thinking."
