On January 23, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, received a delegation led by the Speakers and Vice Speakers of the Parliaments of the Nordic-Baltic Eight at the National Assembly. The delegation included the Speaker of the Estonian Riigikogu, Lauri Hussar, the Speaker of the Latvian Saeima, Daiga Mieriņa, the Speaker of the Finnish Eduskunta, Jussi Halla-Aho, the Speaker of the Norwegian Storting, Masud Gharahkhani, the Deputy Speaker of the Danish Folketing, Karsten Honge, the Deputy Speaker of the Lithuanian Saeimas, Juozas Olekas, the Deputy Speaker of the Swedish Riksdag, Kenneth Forslund, and many other officials.
During the discussion held in an expanded format, in which the deputies of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia also participated, Alen Simonyan expressed his gratitude to the officials who had arrived in Armenia, noting that such a high-level delegation. The visit is essential for the Republic of Armenia. "On behalf of the National Assembly and myself, I deeply appreciate the commitment of all delegations to visit Armenia to support our young democracy. Armenia attaches great importance to its relations with each country of the format, both as bilateral partners and as EU members or associated countries. The Speakers and Vice-Speakers of the Parliaments of the Northern Europe-Baltic Cooperation Format, in turn, thanked Alain Simonyan for the warm welcome and noted that they were impressed by Armenia. The latter expressed their unconditional support for Armenia's territorial integrity and said they highly appreciated Armenia's efforts to establish lasting peace in the region. They also emphasized Armenia's readiness to support the European integration process, emphasizing that they are ready to contribute.
