On January 14, RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in Washington. The meeting followed the signing of the Strategic Partnership Charter between the Republic of Armenia and the United States of America.
The interlocutors both emphasized the importance of establishing the Strategic Partnership between the two countries as a historical milestone for deepening relations and ensuring new joint achievements.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Anthony Blinken discussed agenda issues aimed at further deepening cooperation between Armenia and the United States, current works and possible future steps.
Minister Mirzoyan noted that signing the RA-US strategic partnership charter resulted from dynamic cooperation and strong mutual commitment between the two countries in recent years. Ararat Mirzoyan thanked Anthony Blinken for the charter's signing, his contribution to strengthening RA-US bilateral cooperation, and his support of RA.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Secretary of State of the United States referred to the sectoral cooperation initiatives and new opportunities provided by the establishment of a strategic partnership between the two countries aimed at strengthening the Republic of Armenia's resilience and economic development. Reference was also made to the process aimed at deepening the RA-EU partnership.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Anthony Blinken discussed the security situation in the South Caucasus, the existing challenges, and efforts to overcome them. Full respect for sovereignty and realizing the importance of economic development are at the core of the RA government's vision. They will continue to be in the future—the prominent landmark of the steps.
