The Minister of Foreign Affairs gave details of the negotiations with Azerbaijan
Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan gave details of the peace treaty negotiations with Azerbaijan.
According to him, 15 of the 17 articles discussed were agreed upon, and Armenia presented its proposals regarding the 2 disagreed-on articles.
He spoke about the unblocking of transport communication infrastructures, noting that this is not limited to the unblocking of RA-Azerbaijan transport routes but forms a broader international agenda.
"Unfortunately, we have not received an official answer until today. The proposal we made addresses all the existing problems," he said, noting that they proposed unblocking the railway passing through the south of RA at the first stage. "We proposed a certain simplification of the customs border crossing procedures and additional security mechanisms for the same cargoes. The primary reaction of the Azerbaijani side left a positive impression; let's see the rest," he said.
Mirzoyan also spoke about Iran's position on this issue, emphasizing that Armenian border guards already control the Armenian-Iranian border.
