The ministry denies the statement of the US ambassador to Azerbaijan

The Ministry of Environment denies the statement made by Mark Libby, the US ambassador to Azerbaijan, at the opening ceremony of the United States pavilion at COP29 that a group of hydrologists and engineers from Azerbaijan and Armenia, with the support of the US, are working together on an integrated water resources management scheme for transboundary rivers in the region.

"Works aimed at cross-border cooperation are not carried out within the framework of the "Improvement of Water Resources Management in Armenia" program financed by USAID (Agency for International Development). In the framework of the project, the 2025-2030 plan of the Southern Water Basin Management Area and the river load calculation tool are being developed," the ministry explained in response to Radar Armenia's inquiry.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs added that two hydrological observation points on the Akhuryan River are being modernized, and the Araks-Surmalu hydrological observation point is also planned to be modernized.
