Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had a private conversation with His Holiness Pope Francis as part of his working visit to the Holy See.
Prime Minister Pashinyan thanked him for the meeting and noted that being in the Apostolic Palace for the first time was a great honor. According to the RA Prime Minister, ongoing mutual visits at the highest and highest levels document the unique interstate relations between Armenia and the Holy See. Nikol Pashinyan added that the appointment of the Apostolic nuncio resident in Armenia will bring significant progress in friendly relations.
At the same time, the Prime Minister emphasized Armenia's full support to the Holy See in serving the peace agenda on international platforms and collaborating in this direction.
Nikol Pashinyan informed His Holiness about the latest developments in the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process and reaffirmed the Armenian Government's commitment to the Peace Agenda. He also emphasized that the Republic of Armenia is determined to contribute to peace.
The Prime Minister thanked His Holiness for the continuous efforts of the Holy See to release the Armenian prisoners.
The interlocutors also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
After the private conversation, Pope Francis greeted the Prime Minister's wife, Anna Hakobyan, daughter, and the members of the delegation accompanying the Prime Minister.
