Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vahan Kostanyan said Armenia has yet to decide whether to participate in the COP-29 conference, which will start in Baku. According to him, Armenia's participation depends on the dynamics of the process.
"Certainly, when the decision is made, we will properly inform," said the deputy minister. When asked whether there were discussions with Baku regarding participation in the event and the return of prisoners, he said,
"It is necessary to judge from the general dynamics of negotiations. Of course, there are channels through which the contacts proceed, including recently received the editing of the 11th Azerbaijani project."
According to Kostanyan, addressing the problem of prisoners is very important. "We are also working in that direction so that all Armenian prisoners of war and other detained persons eventually return to Armenia."
He noted the President of Azerbaijan's optimistic statements regarding the peace treaty: "There are still issues on which the parties' views differ, but we see an opportunity to bring these views closer together."
