The President of the Republic, Vahagn Khachaturyan, received the delegation led by the Mayor of Alfortville, France, Luc Carvounas. Alfortville is one of the most Armenian cities in France, and it actively defends Armenia and Armenian issues.
During the meeting, the possibilities of decentralized cooperation between the two countries and cooperation in the format of sister cities, which contribute to the strengthening and development of ties at the community level, were discussed.
President Khachaturyan emphasized such cooperation, noting that the communities of France and Armenia have the opportunity to effectively exchange best practices and implement joint projects in the socio-economic, educational, and cultural fields.
Luke Carvounas, for his part, emphasized that the city of Alforville is ready to closely cooperate with Armenian communities, supporting both decentralized partnerships and the development of new initiatives in the format of sister cities.
During the meeting, reference was made to the political and humanitarian assistance provided by France for years, for which the president expressed his gratitude, stressing that the participation of international partners in solving such problems is important for Armenia.
The parties also emphasized the importance of parliamentary diplomacy between France and Armenia, which contributes to the deepening of bilateral ties and the effective cooperation of the two countries on international platforms.
