Vahagn Khachaturyan had a telephone conversation with Mirzoyan and Simidyan from Colombia
According to the voting results of the final plenary session of the 16th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP16) held in Cali, Colombia, the majority of votes of the participating countries decided to have the conference (COP17) in 2026 in the Republic of Armenia.
In this connection, the President of the Republic, Vahagn Khachaturyan, had telephone conversations with the Minister of the Environment of the Republic of Armenia, Hakob Simidyan, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan.
The President congratulated and thanked the ministers for the combined and practical work of the two ministries' teams in deciding to hold the high-level international conference in Armenia.
President Vahagn Khachaturyan also wished the committed agencies success in organizing and holding the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity in 2026 at a high level.
