RA President Vahagn Khachaturyan met with Susana Muhamad, the President of the 16th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP16), the Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development of Colombia, during his working visit to Colombia.
The President of the Republic highly appreciated the Colombian side's large-scale work and the conference's presidency conference presidency in preparing and holding a large-scale event in a short time. Susana Muhamad thanked the President of the Republic for finding time to participate in the conference and for his words of appreciation.
During the meeting, ideas were exchanged on combining necessary measures and efforts to address the interconnected crises of climate change and biodiversity loss. Both sides emphasized the importance of holding high-level international conferences like COP16 and implementing the decisions made in them.
In this context, the President of the Republic emphasized that Armenia is committed to its obligations under international conventions within the framework of combating the challenges of climate change and loss of biodiversity and is actively working towards their implementation.
