Under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, the Government held the inaugural session of the working group created to coordinate the necessary commitments and actions of the RA government in the direction of liberalizing the visa regime with the EU, including the development and implementation of the visa dialogue action plan with the EU.
The participants discussed the main measures to be implemented by Armenia to liberalize the visa regime with the EU. By order of the Deputy Prime Minister, the functions of the departments involved in the working group were clarified, and the discussions with the EU starting in November 2024 were highlighted, which aim to define and develop the framework of the action plan for the liberalization of visas to be provided by the EU to Armenia.
The working group, in which the representatives of the executive and legislative authorities participate, will work under the interdepartmental commission to ensure the implementation of the RA-EU Comprehensive and Extended Partnership Agreement, taking into account that the plan of action to be drawn up will be a separate package of reforms provided for in the agreement and will be considered as a priority for migration, internal security and strategic agenda for modernization of border management areas.
