The collection of signatures on the issue of joining the EU is over

60,000 signatures were collected as a result of the signature collection with the request to hold a referendum on EU membership, according to the announcement of the headquarters.

"On behalf of the initiative group of Armenia's EU accession bill, we express our deep gratitude and warm congratulations to all those who supported this important initiative with their participation. Thanks to your loyalty, support, and unwavering commitment, we secured the required 60,000 signatures twice ahead of schedule, surpassing our wildest expectations.

This collection of signatures proves not only the desire for freedom and national dignity of RA citizens but also the political maturity and unity of our society for European values.

This is a strong impulse in the geopolitical processes unfolding in our large region, Southeastern Europe, and it will leave a positive response to the democratic movements in Georgia and Moldova simultaneously.

The initiating political parties and non-governmental organizations are preparing to present the collected signatures to the Central Electoral Commission of RA, which will forward the bill to the RA National Assembly for consideration after appropriate checks. We will steadfastly defend your votes and wishes to achieve our common goal: Armenia's membership in the EU. Long live free, independent, and European Armenia," the statement said.

Remember that to bring the bill "Starting the process of Armenia's accession to the European Union" to the parliament, the initiating political forces had to collect 50,000 signatures in 60 days, until November 14. If the project reaches the National Assembly and is rejected, it will be put to a referendum in the second stage, but this time, 300,000 citizens must sign it in 60 days.
