Armenia values extending the mandate of the EU observation mission. In response to Radar Armenia's inquiry about whether the issue of extending the term and expanding the mandate of the EU observation mission is being discussed with EU partners, the MFA answered.
"The current mandate of the EU observer mission will end at the beginning of 2025, and Armenia attaches importance to the extension of the mandate of the EU observer mission and its further activities, positively evaluating the almost two-year activity of the EU observer mission," the response to the survey stated.
The EU observation mission started its activities in Armenia on October 20, 2022.
The Armenian mission, consisting of 40 EU civilian observer experts, monitors the situation in the border regions between Armenia and Azerbaijan through regular and situational reports regarding combat positions and developments regarding the cease-fire.
