RA NA Speaker Alen Simonyan met with the Chairman of the Senate of the Czech Parliament, Miloš Vistarčil, as part of his official visit to the Czech Republic. In the extended discussions, the interlocutors touched on various issues related to the broad agenda of Armenian-Czech relations.
The discussions centered on deepening and developing cooperation between the parliaments of Armenia and the Czech Republic.
The President of the Senate said it is crucial for the Czech Republic to deepen relations with Armenia, especially after Armenia's announcement of its readiness to be closer to the EU. The RA NA Speaker, in turn, thanked the Czech side for its desire to contribute to the Armenia-EU rapprochement process and its positive attitude.
The current situation in our region, issues related to the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty, and the repatriation of Armenian prisoners of war held in Azerbaijan were also addressed.
