RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan gave a speech at the 45th Francophonie Ministerial Forum.
"Dear Madam Secretary General,
Dear ministers, dear partners,
First, congratulations to the Republic of France on hosting the Francophonie ministerial meeting and the upcoming summit.
Dear partners,
The events taking place today cause great concern. We live in a complex geopolitical period characterized by increasing conflicts and crises, the weakening of multilateral institutions, and the supremacy of international law.
Our organization, with its members' geographical and cultural diversity, fundamental values, humanitarian, educational, cultural, and environmental protection agendas, and progressive agendas for the advancement of women, has sufficient potential to counter the mentioned challenges.
Dear partners,
Armenia welcomes the "Resolution on Crisis Situations in the Francophone Region, Their Overcoming and Strengthening of Peace," in which we comprehensively addressed the existing security threats in the Francophone region and pointed out ways to overcome them.
The resolution must support the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan based on respect for the territorial integrity of the states, as stated in the 1991 Alma Ata Declaration. The resolution also welcomes the progress made in demarcating the interstate border based on the principles reaffirmed in the Protocol of April 19, 2024. It encourages reopening regional communication channels based on respect for sovereignty, national jurisdiction, equality, and reciprocity.
Armenia is committed to continuing its efforts to promote the agenda of establishing lasting peace in the region. We have repeatedly expressed our readiness to sign the peace agreement with Azerbaijan immediately. I am sure that the support of the Francophone family will give a positive impetus to the peace process," the minister's message said.
