25 years after the crime of October 27, 1999, the proceedings of "October 27" are in the preliminary investigation stage.
The investigative committee refused to provide detailed information to Radar Armenia, citing Article 8, Part 1, Clause 3 of the "Freedom of Information" Law.
"Considering that the available information on them contains criminal proceedings data that is not subject to publication, additional information is not provided based on Article 8, Part 1, Clause 3 of the Law on Freedom of Information," the answer states.
It should be noted that according to the amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code that came into effect on July 1, 2022, the functions of the NSS investigative body were transferred to the investigative committee from January 1, 2024, and due to this circumstance, the criminal proceedings carried out in the central investigative department of the NSS were sent to the General Prosecutor's Office, wherever it was decided to send the preliminary investigation of the separate part of the "October 27" crime case to the anti-corruption committee. In February 2024, the investigation of the case was entrusted to the investigative committee.
In 2019, the General Prosecutor's Office satisfied the complaint of Anahit Bakhshyan's lawyers' complaint regarding initiating a new investigation in part separated and dismissed from the October 27 case, but no accused has been identified.
Let's remind: the gang led by Nairi Hunanyan invaded the National Assembly on October 27, 1999, and shot dead the Armenian leadership, the Speaker of the Parliament at that time, Karen Demirchyan, Prime Minister Vazgen Sargsyan, and six other officials.
