On September 26, RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in New York.
Noting with satisfaction the high level of friendly relations formed between the two neighboring countries, Ararat Mirzoyan and Seyed Abbas Araghchi discussed the possibilities of best realizing the potential of cooperation in directions of mutual interest.
In the context of establishing lasting peace in the South Caucasus, Minister Mirzoyan presented the latest discussions on concluding a peace treaty with Azerbaijan.
Minister Mirzoyan emphasized Armenia's solid political will to achieve lasting peace in the region. Iran's position regarding unconditional respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty was also emphasized in this context.
The foreign ministers of Armenia and Iran addressed the issue of unblocking the regional economic and transport channels. In this context, Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized the RA's firm approach to opening communications in accordance with the principles laid down in the government's "Crossroads of Peace" concept.
